GOD usually gives us as Christians a lot of responsibilities, and HE makes sure we find ourselves in situations where we can impact people with the WORD, especially our families.
We are the Light of the world, so there will be a lot to do in this dark world. One of the reasons why GOD walked closely with Abraham was because he would put his family in order and make sure they would obey GOD…

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Genesis 18:19
Lot was also a man of GOD due to Abraham’s influence, he also like Abraham could know when GOD appeared and welcomed him Genesis 18:1-9; 19:1-2
When Lot was in trouble, Abraham was interceding for him thinking he would have done the same as GOD expected from
Him to put his family in order, because Lot like Abraham also had a relationship with GOD and therefore was given the responsibility to influence where he was!
Genesis 18:23-33
Lot lost everything unlike Abraham, he was captured one time and Abraham had to go get him, he lost his wife and the integrity of his family, because his daughters slept with him to get children. We are so responsible for our families and the lives around us to make sure they obey GOD or else we lose everything! Genesis 19:30-38
